Came across this old John Player Special Lotus toy lying around at my parents’ house. As you can see, it’s a little the worse for wear – as a toy should be, these things aren’t designed as investments. I’m not sure, mind you, that toys should be advertising tobacco products. It harks back to simpler times, I suppose.
It also turns out it isn’t worth a great deal of money, as it is (a) a child-proof toy and (b) actually pretty common.
All of which is a good thing, because it gives me license to crack out the paints, fire up the printer and restore it to its former glory. I might even have it done in time to see Raikkonen or Grosjean grab a first win for the ‘new’ JPS Lotus.
